Coral - A Sea Treasure in the World of Jewellery

Pink Coral Pendant

Coral, a fascinating creation of nature, has been captivating people for centuries with its beauty and diversity. In our Krakow workshop, we create jewellery that pays homage to this marine treasure. Let's take a closer look at this unique material!

What exactly is coral?

Contrary to popular belief, coral is not a stone, but the skeleton of marine animals called coral polyps. These tiny organisms live in colonies, creating beautiful, colourful structures over time.

Fascinating facts about corals:

Colour variety: Corals come in many shades - from classic red to pink, orange, white, and even black.
Hardness: Corals have a hardness of 3-4 on the Mohs scale. This means they are harder than pearls (2.5-4.5) but softer than quartz (7). This characteristic gives them unique properties in jewellery.
History of use: Coral jewellery was valued as early as in ancient Egypt and Rome.
Natural properties: In folk medicine, coral was attributed with healing and protective properties.
Uniqueness: Each piece of coral is one-of-a-kind, which means that jewellery made from it is always unique.

Coral in Krakow traditional costume - a local curiosity

In the traditional Krakow costume, red corals play an important role. They were worn as necklaces, often in multiple rows, symbolising wealth and social status.

Our jewellery, created in the heart of Krakow, draws on this rich tradition, combining it with modern design.
By choosing coral jewellery, you not only gain a beautiful accessory but also a piece of marine history. In our gallery, you will find unique pieces that will highlight your individuality and love for natural beauty.
